Humidor Mold Exposure

What are the Blue/Green Spots on my Cigars?

Answer- If you find blue/green spots on your cigars that leave a stain when you brush them off, the spots are probably mold. Mold is a damaging fungus that results from storing cigars in too high humidity and will ruin the taste of your cigars.

Candida parapsilosis and Penicillium ascomycetous are two common fungal names provided by a cigar mold study performed by an Australian biotech laboratory. Feeding on natural sugars secreted from the tobacco leaves, cigar mold can appear in many colors - white, red, green, blue, or yellow.

Tobacco Indoor Seed Beds Mold/Fungi Exposure

Your indoor garden is never more vulnerable than in the first few weeks after you plant. Whether you start with seeds or clones, the tender seedlings can suffer from overheating, underfeeding, and lethal fungi.

A very common problem when attempting to grow plants from seeds started indoors is the appearance of fuzzy white, gray, or black mold that causes the freshly sprouted seedlings to decay and collapse at the soil level. Collectively, the conditions caused by these fungi are known as "damping-off" disease, and it is a death sentence for baby plants.

Blue mold of tobacco is caused by Peronospora hyoscyami f.sp. Peronospora tabacina, a fungus-like organism that is highly destructive to tobacco seed beds, transplants and production fields in the humid farming zones of the southeastern and eastern United States, Canada, and countries bordering the Caribbean basin.

The Answer

From the data of the study conducted at the Pittsburgh "Burn" Lounge between May 24th and June 6th Active Pure Technology inactivated airborne Aspergillus/Penicillium mold to zero.
Active Pure Technology will greatly reduce the Mold and Fungi levels to safeguard Humidors and keep your product fresher longer. From a manufacturing standpoint we can safeguard your seedlings from the indoor grow space until they are ready to transplanted in the field.
